My sis likes her redbud she bought, but it doesn't seed or tend to.

} Jan 29, 'Flame Thrower' has red-burgundy foliage that fades to yellow and green, giving it a multicolored look. 'Hearts of Gold' and 'Rising Sun' begin the year with yellow foliage and fade to green. 'Ruby Falls' and 'Purple Leaf' start purple.

'Silver Cloud'. This tree is not picky when it comes to soil preference, but it does best when grown in a moist, well-drained location. Also Know, what do redbud leaves look like?

Eastern redbud leaves are alternate, simple, broadly heart-shaped and 3 to 5 inches high and wide. Leaves emerge reddish, turning green as. Features somewhat heart-shaped leaves 2–6" in length. They emerge a reddish color, turning dark green as summer approaches and then yellow in the fall. Makes a bold landscape statement, with its irregular branching and graceful crown. Yields brown to brownish-black pods that are 2–3" in length, remaining on the tree throughout winter.

Aug 21, It sure looks like a redbud, but what has me confused is that this tree is supposed to be a slow grower. Not mine. It's about 3 times the size it was when I planted it in May! Do you think it really is a redbud or a look alike? My friend said it did have the redbud flowers, but she may have been confused.

Come fall, redbud trees sport beautiful golden color. The deciduous tree's seedpods hold on through the winter. Because of the large amounts of seeds they produce, redbuds can seed about the garden but luckily, they are fairly easy to remove from where they aren't wanted.

Redbuds are fairly disease.
